We found an open internet cafe and began looking for ways to contact my contact, Marian. Finally got an e-mail from her. Turns out her phone had broken and the family, not being able to reach her, concluded that I wasn't coming. Marian came to meet us and offered me work space and wifi access at her organization, Earth Rights Eco-Village Institute (EREV), right across the street from my homestay.
